Thaxted
Thaxted has a magnificent church of cathedral proportions a fifteenth century Guildhall and John Webbs windmill. It has many Tudor and Georgian houses which contrast with the gently rolling unspoilt countryside surrounding the Town.
Crossways Guest House overlooks the much photographed Guildhall and Stoney Lane, a row of Tudor buildings leading up to the church.
It is the venue for an annual music festival and hosts the famous 'Morris Ring' when up to three hundred Morris dancers gather in the town from all over the country.
